For stretch marks and scars Stellar M22™ ResurFX™ the right way. For couperose and visible veins you need Stellar M22™ IPL. And if you're concerned about a single skin lesion, it's best to see a dermatologist, not us. We'll tell you this even if you're already on the treatment chair.
The Treatment
What LaseMD Ultra™ does for your skin
LaseMD Ultra™ is a fractional thulium laser from Lutronic. It places thousands of microscopically fine points into the uppermost layer of skin, without removing it – thereby kick-starting the renewal process that your skin performs more slowly as the years go by.
You essentially already know what happens. Your skin is constantly renewing its top cells. This cycle takes longer at thirty than at twenty, and even longer at forty. What accumulates, you see as dullness, a rougher surface, a complexion that no longer looks even. The laser gives this cycle a boost, and your skin does the rest itself.
The second part is what distinguishes the treatment of anything you can do at home. For a few hours after the session, these fine channels are open. Actives that would otherwise just sit on intact skin at the barrier actually get in. We use this window directly in the session – this isn't an upsell, this is why we chose this device.
The result is nothing anyone can name. Your skin looks more even, the surface smoother, the light falls on it differently. People will ask you if you've been away.

We don’t buy devices because they’re new. We buy them when they solve a problem we didn’t have a good answer for before.
The problem we faced was: summer. And darker skin tones. Most light and pigment treatments require light, untanned skin – from May onwards, the response was: come back in October. For a woman who has an important event in July or whose skin is simply darker, this was an unsatisfactory answer.
LaseMD Ultra™ solves this because it targets differently. It doesn't look for colour in the skin, but for water – and every skin has water, regardless of tone and regardless of whether you've just returned from holiday. That's why we can treat you all year round, and that's also why no one comes to us with the wrong skin tone anymore.

What the literature says
A systematic review from 2025 analysed 17 studies with 448 participants. The majority of the investigations showed improvements in skin texture and pigmentation, with an acceptable safety profile. The authors explicitly point out that the treatment parameters varied significantly between studies.
In a prospective study from 2023, participants with skin types II to IV received three sessions one month apart. The epidermis became measurably thicker, and statistically significant improvements were observed in skin elasticity and wrinkles. Around 70 percent described themselves as satisfied or very satisfied afterwards.
We write this so soberly because that is how it is. Anyone who promises you percentages without any caveats is trying to sell you something.

We don't have a standard package. What's included in a session is decided based on your skin – in such a way that each step leads into the next. That's the difference between a treatment and a plan.
When the complexion appears sallow and pores are visible
First HydraFacial™. The purification empties the pores and removes what has accumulated on the surface. After that, the laser hits clear skin instead of a layer of sebum – the energy distributes evenly instead of being lost. To finish Dermadrop TDA®Needle-free active ingredient infusion into channels that are still open. Three steps, one session, one result that none of the steps alone would deliver.
When the contour also yields, in addition to skin quality
First Volnewmer® RF. The radiofrequency works in the depths and stimulates collagen production there over months. Then LaseMD Ultra™ on the surface. The two don't get in each other's way because they work in different layers - you get building underneath and renewal on top in one session.
When the texture is in the foreground
BioRePeel® or PRX-T33® First, then the laser. The peel prepares the surface, the laser works on skin that is already open. We will decide which of the two is suitable on the day of the treatment.
A week after
Fillmed NCTF® and PolyPhil™. Your barrier then closes again, and the biostimulation hits tissue that is already regenerating. Too early would be too soon.
Not in the same session
Stellar M22™ IPL, Vivace® RF Microneedling, SkinPen®. Fillers and botulinum toxin: 3 to 4 weeks in between.

Skin quality you can see
The treatment lasts around 45 minutes and requires no anaesthetic. Most people describe a warmth with a slight tingling sensation. Afterwards, the skin is red, as if after a day outdoors, the next day it feels slightly rough and peels lightly over the following days. Make-up can be applied from the following day. After about three days, this has passed – and we measure the results.

What is LaseMD Ultra™?
LaseMD Ultra™ is a fractional thulium laser from Lutronic with a wavelength of 1927 nm. At the same time, fine channels are created, allowing active ingredients to be better absorbed directly after treatment.

For anyone whose primary concerns are their complexion, skin texture, or pores. Because the laser works via water in the skin and not pigment, it is not limited to lighter skin types. If you have sagging contours or volume loss, a radiofrequency treatment is more suitable.
Does the LaseMD Ultra™ hurt and do I need numbing cream?
An anaesthetic is not necessary. Most of our clients describe the treatment as warmth with a slight prickling sensation that subsides immediately after the pass.
What is the downtime after LaseMD Ultra™?
Allow for one to three days. On the day of treatment, the skin will be red, afterwards it will feel slightly rough and peel lightly. Make-up is possible the next day.
How many LaseMD Ultra™ sessions do I need?
We usually plan three sessions with a gap of three to four weeks between them. Studies have also mostly used three treatments at monthly intervals. The number of sessions for you will be determined after the AURA 3D skin analysis.
How long does the result of LaseMD Ultra™ last?
Almost every client asks this question – and it leads in the wrong direction. Skin quality isn't a repair that holds or doesn't hold, but a characteristic that is built up and maintained. Just like dental hygiene or training. After the course of treatment, we recommend a refresh every few months. Those who stay on track start at a higher level each time.
Can I also have LaseMD Ultra™ in the summer?
Yes. Unlike IPL, the thulium laser does not rely on untanned, high-contrast skin. The prerequisite is that you are not freshly tanned before the treatment and consistently use SPF 50 afterwards.
Does LaseMD Ultra™ work on darker skin tones?
Yes. Because the energy is absorbed via water and not via melanin, the treatment can be adjusted for different skin tones. We individually adjust the power and density and discuss the procedure during the analysis.
What is the difference between LaseMD Ultra™ and IPL?
IPL works by using light that is absorbed by pigments in the skin, namely melanin and haemoglobin. LaseMD Ultra™ works by using laser energy that is absorbed by water. This is why IPL requires untanned, high-contrast skin, whilst LaseMD Ultra™ can be used all year round and on any skin tone.
Can I combine LaseMD Ultra™ with other treatments?
Yes. A HydraFacial™ or a peel is carried out during the same session before the laser treatment, so that the laser is applied to cleansed skin. Volnewmer® RF can also be incorporated into the same session beforehand. We administer Fillmed NCTF® and PolyPhil™ one week afterwards.
When is LaseMD Ultra™ not possible?
We cannot treat recently tanned skin or self-tanner, during pregnancy and breastfeeding, with active herpes or skin infections in the area, with active cancer in the treatment area, and under 18 years of age. After isotretinoin therapy, we wait at least six months. We will clarify photosensitising medications in advance. We do not treat skin changes that require medical clarification.
How much does LaseMD Ultra™ cost in Zurich?
A single facial treatment costs CHF 500, a package of 3 costs CHF 1200. The neck is an additional CHF 100, and the décolleté is an additional CHF 200. You can find all prices on the Prices page.
