Why skin sagging occurs
Sagging facial skin is not caused by a lack of skincare, but by the breakdown of supportive tissue. From the age of 25, the skin loses around 1 % of collagen each year, and there is also a decline in elastin, fat and even bone in the face.
You start to feel it at 40, and see it at 50 — which is precisely why sagging skin isn’t just a matter of finding the right cream. The face doesn’t lose its firmness on the surface. It loses it deep down, and from within.

- Volume in the cheeks and midface — the fatty tissue decreases in volume and shifts downwards.
- The clean jawline — The skin and connective tissue lose their firmness, resulting in jowls.

What helps combat sagging skin — and what doesn’t

You might be wondering
Am I too young or too old for a facelift?
We treat patients aged 18 and over. The sooner you start building up your collagen, the less you’ll have to make up for later — and even at 60, there’s still a lot you can achieve. It’s the condition of your skin that matters, not your age.
Can you tell that I've had something done?
No. Our treatments stimulate your body’s own collagen production rather than adding volume from the outside. The result looks natural — firmer, but still you.
What is the difference between this and Botox or fillers?
Botox relaxes muscles and smooths out expression lines. Fillers add volume from the outside, temporarily. Neither builds up the skin’s own structure. In cases of sagging skin, we instead stimulate the body’s own collagen and volume production — the results last longer and do not require touch-ups at short intervals.
Do I need an operation, or can I manage without one?
Many contouring treatments don’t require a scalpel. Radiofrequency and collagen stimulation can significantly tighten sagging skin — without surgery and with no downtime. If surgery would be a better option, we’ll tell you honestly; however, we don’t offer it.
How soon will I see results, and how long will they last?
The first results are often visible after just a few weeks, with full collagen production taking three to six months. Volnewmer® generally lasts for a year or longer, whilst Vivace® lasts for around six months per session. With targeted touch-ups, the results remain stable.
How many sessions will I need?
That depends on the treatment and your initial condition. Volnewmer® is usually effective after just one session, with a follow-up treatment once or twice a year. Vivace® works in a short course of treatments. We’ll determine what’s best for you during the consultation.
