Why wrinkles form
Fine lines appear because, from the mid-20s onwards, the skin loses around 1–3% of its collagen each year and, at the same time, binds less hyaluronic acid. The supporting structure in the dermis becomes thinner and loses its firmness — fine lines appear on the surface long before deep wrinkles form. A simple moisturiser does not reach this depth.
What you see in the mirror is the result of years — not weeks. That’s exactly why it can’t be fixed overnight, but with the right approach, it can be achieved in a manageable number of steps.
What happens during this process
- Collagen and elastin are produced more slowly — the skin loses its firmness.
- hyaluronic acid thins out — it lacks the moisture that plumps up the skin from within.
- The dermis becomes thinner — making fine lines more visible.
What helps against fine lines — and what doesn't
Creams and serums work on the epidermis, the outermost layer of the skin. However, fine lines begin beneath this, in the dermis — where collagen is produced. Even a good serum therefore does little to address the actual cause at the surface.
What really makes a difference works at a deeper level: by boosting collagen production and improving skin density.
And what about Botox? Botox relaxes the muscle and smooths out expression lines — a different approach with a different aim. We, on the other hand, work with your body’s own collagen production. The skin becomes firmer and more resilient, whilst fine lines become less noticeable and take longer to form.

Am I too young or too old for a treatment for fine lines?
Fine lines can be treated at any stage — the sooner you start, the less effort it will take later on. We treat patients aged 18 and over; what matters is the condition of your skin, not your age.
Can you tell that I've had something done?
No. We stimulate your own collagen production, rather than freezing your facial expressions or adding volume from the outside. Your skin looks fresher and smoother — but you remain the same.
What is the difference between this and Botox?
„Botox“ is a brand name — the active ingredient behind it is botulinum toxin type A. It is injected into the muscle, where it temporarily blocks nerve signals, causing the muscle to relax and smoothing out expression lines. Botulinum toxin therefore acts on the muscle, not on the skin’s quality. We take a different approach and work on your own collagen production and skin density: fine lines become softer and form more slowly because the skin becomes more resilient from within.
Isn't a good serum enough to combat fine lines?
Serums work on the outermost layer of the skin, helping to smooth and nourish it. However, the cause of fine lines lies deeper, in the dermis, where collagen is produced. This is precisely where our treatments come into play — targeting a different area than any cream.
How soon will I see results, and how long will they last?
The first results are often visible after just a few weeks, with full collagen production taking three to six months. Volnewmer® generally lasts for a year or longer, whilst Vivace® lasts for around six months per session. With targeted touch-ups, the results remain stable.
How many sessions will I need?
That depends on the treatment and your initial condition. Volnewmer® is usually effective after just one session, whilst microneedling treatments are carried out in a short course of sessions. We’ll discuss which option is best for you during the consultation.
