Peelings are among the oldest methods for skin renewal. However, classic chemical peels often mean visible flaking and days of recovery. PRX-T33 and BioRePeel take a gentler approach: visible results without the typical peeling and without downtime. At alestetics in Zurich, we work with both – which one is right for you depends on your skin goals and type. Here you can read how they work and what differentiates them.
PRX-T33 – Biorevitalization without peeling
PRX-T33 is a non-ablative peel: it works deep down without removing the uppermost layer of skin. This is made possible by the combination of three active ingredients:
- 33 % Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) stimulates fibroblasts to form new collagen
- Hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂) – buffers the acid on the surface so that no visible flaking occurs
- Kojic acid – supports a more even skin tone
Unlike a classic TCA peel, PRX-T33 does not ablate the skin, but rather stimulates it from within. In a pilot study, this combination of TCA and hydrogen peroxide improved the appearance of sun- and age-related skin damage.Biron et al., 2022Read on to find out why collagen is the crucial building block and from when it declines Build collagen.
PRX-T33 is particularly suitable for declining skin elasticity and fine lines as with tired, Uneven complexion – on the face and neck, décolleté and hands. Because it works without open skin lesions, the risk of pigment shifts is low, which is also an advantage for sensitive and darker skin. The procedure takes around 30 minutes: cleansing, one to two massaged-in layers, washing off, aftercare – without redness or peeling. More on this on the treatment page. PRX-T33®.
BioRePeel – Exfoliation and skincare in two stages
BioRePeel is a biphasic peel: a lipophilic protective phase and a hydrophilic active ingredient phase. The protective phase coats the skin, strengthening the barrier and reducing irritation – which is why BioRePeel is also suitable for sensitive skin. The active ingredient phase combines:
- 35 % TCA with fruit acids and salicylic acid (AHA/BHA/PHA) – for exfoliation and cell regeneration
- Amino acids and vitamins – care for and support regeneration
- GABA – for a smoothing effect
BioRePeel exfoliates and biostimulates in one step. It is particularly suitable for blemished, acne-prone skin, enlarged pores and a tired complexion. Mild peeling for one to two days is possible, but not the norm. More on this on the treatments page. BioRePeel®.

Both as preparation for microneedling
PRX-T33 and BioRePeel can be combined well with other treatments. At alestetics, a simple rule applies: peeling comes before needling. A peel cleanses and exfoliates the skin, allowing the needles to penetrate more evenly. Studies show that the combination of chemical peeling and microneedling for acne scars yields better results than either method on its own.Review article, 2025. You can read about how it works here SkinPen® Microneedling.

What is the difference between PRX-T33 and BioRePeel?
PRX-T33 is a biorevitalization without peeling – it stimulates collagen in depth and stands for firmness, elasticity and a more even complexion. BioRePeel is a biphasic peel that exfoliates and nourishes – it is particularly suitable for impure skin, enlarged pores and tired complexions. Which one is right depends on your skin goal.
Does the skin peel after exfoliating?
With PRX-T33, usually not – it doesn't exfoliate the skin, but works underneath. With BioRePeel, slight peeling for one to two days is possible, but not the norm. Both treatments require no significant downtime.
Can I have PRX-T33 or BioRePeel done in the summer too?
Yes. Both are not photosensitising and therefore possible year-round, even in the warmer seasons. The risk of pigment displacement is low. Consistent sun protection afterwards remains important.
How many sessions will I need?
Both peels work best as a course of several sessions. Many achieve fresher skin even after the first treatment; the lasting improvement in texture and skin quality builds up over several appointments. We will determine the appropriate rhythm together.
