Non-invasive body treatments often focus on the same goal: improving the appearance of cellulite, firming the skin, and smoothing contours. Two well-known technologies are Icoone and LPG Endermologie. Both work through mechanical tissue stimulation – but in different ways. At alestetics in Zurich, we work with Icoone. Here you can read about how the two differ and what is realistic for cellulite.
How the two technologies work
LPG Endermologie was one of the first technologies for mechanical tissue stimulation. It works with motorised rollers and negative pressure, which lift the skin and massage the connective tissue – this stimulates blood circulation and lymph flow.
Icoone utilises Roboderm® technology: a perforated surface through which a fractional micro-vacuum creates many tiny stimulation points simultaneously – the so-called Multi-Micro-Alveolar Stimulation. Both devices therefore work with negative pressure; the difference lies in the distribution. Instead of one large suction, Icoone distributes the stimulation across many small points and combines it with a diode laser (915 nm) and LED light (650 nm).
It is documented that mechanical stimulation supports microcirculation, skin elasticity and lymphatic drainage for this treatment approach (Review of Endermologie, 2025).
Why we work with Icoone at alestetics
Both technologies are established. We decided on Icoone – for reasons that suit our way of working:
- The stimulation is distributed over many small points instead of one large suction. This is pleasant and also easily controllable even with sensitive skin.
- Skin with a rich vascular network – for example, a tendency towards spider veins – is not a contraindication.
- The combination of mechanical stimulation, diode laser and LED allows for multiple levels to be addressed in one session.
This isn't a judgement on other devices, but a conscious choice for our approach. Read more about treatment with us on the page Icoone Body Contouring.
What does it do for cellulite – realistically?
Cellulite arises from an interplay of connective tissue structure, fat chambers and blood circulation. To be honest: there is no method that permanently eliminates cellulite – the scientific evidence also shows this (Zerini et al., 2015What mechanical stimulation can achieve is to improve the appearance: a smoother skin surface, firmer tissue, and stimulated lymphatic flow. The results build up over several sessions and are best maintained with regular upkeep. You can read more about this on our page Cellulite.
Who Icoone is suitable for
In each session, Icoone treats the entire body, with a focus on the lymphatic system, and additional attention on one to two specific areas. It is suitable for:
- the appearance of cellulite
- decreasing elasticity and Flabby skin
- Heavy and tense feeling in the legs, plus sluggish lymph flow heavy legs
We often combine Icoone in a session with other body treatments. A related method using vibrating micro-stimulation is Endospheres.
Which treatment is right for you?
What body treatment – and in what order – makes sense depends on skin type, tissue and goals. With us, the activation of the lymph and the release of tension often comes at the beginning, before energetic treatments follow. We can best clarify this together.

What is the difference between Icoone and LPG Endermologie?
Both work with mechanical stimulation and vacuum. LPG Endermologie uses motorised rollers with a vacuum. Icoone distributes the stimulation over a perforated surface onto many small points – the Multi Micro Alveolar Stimulation – and combines it with diode lasers and LED light. We work with Icoone.
Does Icoone help with cellulite?
There is no method that permanently eliminates cellulite. Mechanical stimulation can improve its appearance: a smoother skin surface, firmer tissue, and stimulated lymph flow. The results build up over several sessions and are best maintained with regular upkeep.
Is Icoone also suitable for sensitive skin or spider veins?
Yes. Icoone distributes stimulation across many small points, which makes it well controllable. Highly vascularised skin is not a contraindication. In the consultation, we will clarify what is suitable for your skin.
How many sessions will I need?
Icoone works as a course over multiple sessions. We will decide on the appropriate rhythm and number together – depending on your goal, tissue, and skin condition.
