Primelase® is a high-performance diode laser manufactured by the Spanish company Cocoon Medical / Sinclair with a wavelength of 810 nm — the scientifically recognised frequency for a wide range of hair types and skin tones. The device is Suitable for Fitzpatrick skin types I to VI and particularly gentle thanks to CrystalFreeze™ sapphire contact cooling at a constant 5°C. This makes the treatment well tolerated even on sensitive areas such as the bikini line, underarms and face — you can feel the pulses, but your skin remains protected.

Laser Consultancy

Slight redness may occur, but this will subside within a few hours. Avoid heat, saunas and exercise for 48 hours.
Shedding
The treated hairs will fall out naturally 1–3 weeks after the session. This is normal.

How much does laser hair removal for women cost at alestetics® in Zurich?
At alestetics® in Zurich, a Women-only zone: CHF 100–200 per session, depending on size. Legs (thighs or lower legs) are CHF 200, medium-sized areas such as the bikini line, underarms, upper lip or chin CHF 100. With the bundle, you pay significantly less: 3 zones CHF 300, 4 zones CHF 350, 5 zones CHF 400. The 6-month 5-session plan includes the 5th session — as a sign of our commitment to your long-term journey. -
What do ‘Brazilian’, ‘Hollywood’ and ‘French’ mean when it comes to bikinis?
Brazilian, Hollywood, French — these terms are used differently everywhere. Every studio has its own definition, which, to be honest, is very confusing. At alestetics®, we therefore work with clearly defined zones rather than using fashion terms:- Bikini line (CHF 100) — the V-shaped cut at the side that disappears under a swimsuit
- Intimate excluding the bikini line and perianal area (CHF 150) — the front intimate area
- Perianal (CHF 150) — the gluteal fold itself

How many sessions do I need for my legs, bikini line or underarms?
In large areas such as legs on average 6–10 sessions A permanent reduction of 80–90% is realistic. This is usually the case for the bikini line, underarms and face 5–8 sessions. The first three sessions are spaced four weeks apart; thereafter, the intervals are tailored to the individual — usually five to six weeks, and later up to eight weeks apart. Hormonal factors, hair colour, skin type and consistency in adhering to the intervals all influence the outcome. Some women also need Maintenance 1–2 times a year — that’s biology, not medical malpractice. -
Does laser treatment on the bikini line and underarms hurt?
Thanks CrystalFreeze™ Sapphire Cooling: a constant 5°C The treatment is well tolerated. You will feel brief pulses, similar to a warm tingling sensation. More sensitive areas You’ll feel it more in areas such as the bikini line, intimate areas or underarms than, say, the thighs — but significantly less than with waxing. We follow a clear protocol and constantly adjust the intensity to suit your response. You provide feedback throughout the session, we'll sort it straight away. -
Can I have laser treatment whilst I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?
Laser hair removal is strictly contraindicated during pregnancy — we do not treat. We also exercise caution during breastfeeding and assess each case individually. If you are currently pregnant or breastfeeding, we will schedule your first appointment for after you have finished breastfeeding. Hormone-related hair growth during or after pregnancy often takes several months to return to normal — we will wait together for the right moment. -
Is laser treatment effective for PCOS or hormone-related hair growth?
Yes, the laser also works with PCOS, hirsutism and hormone-related hair growth — but with clear limitations, which we communicate honestly. In cases where the cause is hormonal, more meetings are needed than in standard cases, and the results are less stable — new hair growth can be triggered by hormonal fluctuations. Maintenance sessions 2–4 times a year are often part of the long-term plan here. We’ll discuss your individual situation during the free consultation. -
Is laser treatment suitable for sensitive skin, rosacea or darker skin types?
Yes — Primelase® with an 810 nm diode is designed for Fitzpatrick skin types I to VI suitable, including for darker skin tones. The CrystalFreeze™ Sapphire Cooling At a constant 5°C, it protects the skin’s surface, even for those with sensitive skin or a tendency towards rosacea. For very reactive skin, we start with a Patch test, in order to assess the response and fine-tune the settings. -
Does laser treatment work on very light, grey or blonde hair?
The effect is reduced on very light, grey or red hair. The laser works by targeting the melanin (pigment) in the hair — the darker the hair, the more efficiently the energy is absorbed. In blonde, light blonde, white or grey hair this pigment is largely absent, meaning that the treatment is less effective. In dark blonde, brown or black hair Primelase®, on the other hand, is very effective — we’ll be happy to clarify this during your free consultation based on your hair colour. -
When is laser hair removal not suitable for women?
Laser treatment is not possible in the following cases:- Pregnancy (absolute contraindication)
- Active infections or herpes in the treatment area
- Skin cancer or suspicious skin changes in the treatment area
- Tattoos directly in the treatment area (pigments react with the laser)
- Photosensitising medicines (certain antibiotics, antidepressants)
- Isotretinoin treatment (at least 6 months’ interval after completion)
- Freshly tanned or sunburnt skin (at least 4 weeks' interval)
