primelase® Laser Hair Removal

Permanent hair removal in Zurich – smooth skin, less effort, more freedom

Imagine getting dressed in the morning without having to think twice about whether you need to shave today. You can spontaneously go to the gym, book a weekend away, wear dresses or shorts in summer—and your skin will feel smooth.

That's exactly what laser hair removal is all about: less shaving stress, less stubble, less irritation —and a daily routine that feels easier.

At alestetics® in Zurich, we treat patients with Primelase®, a powerful diode laser, and an approach that is at least as important as the device itself: safety, hygiene, discretion, and a plan that really suits you.

Primelase®

Do you know what that's like?

Perhaps you recognize yourself here:

  • You shave often, but stubble is noticeable the very next day.

  • You have razor burn, irritated skin, or ingrown hairs.

  • You want more security and comfort in intimate areas

  • You want to spend less time in the bathroom—and more time for yourself.

  • You don't want to "be perfect forever," you just want to put in less effort.

For many people, laser treatment makes sense when the goal is not "luxury" but comfort: less routine, less irritation, more freedom.

What does laser hair removal mean?

Laser hair removal is a method for permanently reducing hair growth. The laser targets structures in the hair follicle, so that hair gradually grows back significantly less and finer.

It is important to note something that many people underestimate: hair grows in cycles. That is why a series of treatments is necessary—not because "that's how it's sold," but because not all hair follicles are active in the same phase at the same time.

In short:
Laser hair removal is not a spa massage. You can feel the pulses. Our goal is to ensure that it remains well tolerated —while also being effective.

Why choose alestetics® for laser hair removal?

1. Effective – but individually adjusted

We don't work according to a "one-size-fits-all" approach. Every zone, every skin type, and every hair type is different. That's why we adjust the intensity and settings to ensure that the treatment remains effective and you feel safe during it.

2. Discreet – especially for intimate areas

Laser treatment often involves very personal areas. That's why discretion is not an "extra" for us, but standard practice:

  • quiet setting

  • clear communication

  • respectful conduct

  • You decide at any time

3. Hygiene without compromise

We use only disposable materials (e.g., gel spatulas, gel cups, disposable towels). This includes strict routines for disinfection and cleaning—at every appointment.

4. Security & Standards

Our team is V-NISSG certified and undergoes continuous training. Safety is non-negotiable when it comes to lasers: protective eyewear, clean technology, clear questions about skin reactions, and ongoing feedback during treatment.

5. Perfect location: right next to Zurich main station

You can find us at Konradstrasse 1 (1st floor) – right next to Zurich main station. Many customers come before or after work or as commuters.
Despite our central location, we offer discretion: no street entrance, no "shop window studio."

Which areas can be treated?

Laser hair removal is suitable for many areas—the most common choices among customers are:

  • armpits

  • Bikini line / Intimate area

  • Legs (lower legs / entire legs)

  • Face (e.g., upper lip, chin – individual)

  • arms

  • Back / Chest / Abdomen (common in men)

Tip for everyday life:
Many people start with 2–4 areas that are immediately noticeable in everyday life—e.g. , underarms, bikini line, and lower legs.

This is how your laser treatment works (clear, predictable, personalized)

Consulting & Goal Definition

We start with a clear conversation:

  • Which zones really bother you?

  • What is your goal: less shaving, less stubble, less irritation?

  • How does your skin react to shaving, sun exposure, and products?

  • Are there factors such as hormonal changes, medications, or skin sensitivity?

If appropriate, we start with a test pulse/patch test to assess the skin reaction and adjust the treatment optimally.

The treatment

You will be provided with protective eyewear, and we will work with gel and adjust the settings to ensure that it remains comfortable. We will actively communicate during the treatment: you provide feedback, and we make adjustments.

Important: Lasers should not be "unnecessarily harsh" – but smart: effective, yet responsible.

Intervals between sessions

The intervals are not fixed—they depend on the zone, hair cycle, and your feedback:

  • Initial phase: frequently approx. every 3–4 weeks (face sometimes shorter)

  • Middle phase: often 5–6 weeks

  • Towards the end: often approx. 8 weeks

At each appointment, we evaluate together how you have responded and whether the next interval should be adjusted.

How many sessions are realistic?

On average, many people expect 8–12 sessions, depending on their initial situation, zone, genetics, hair color/skin type, hormonal situation, and consistency (e.g., no interruptions in waxing, keeping appointments).

Maintenance (refresher)

For many people, maintenance sessions are useful after completing the series, usually about 1–2 times per year. Background: Hair follicles can "wake up" in different phases, and this is very individual.

Duration of meetings

Thanks to powerful technology, sessions are efficient. We typically schedule about 30 minutes for 3–4 zones (depending on the zones selected).

Preparation (to ensure safety and effectiveness)

Preparation is crucial for laser treatment to be effective:

Before the appointment

  • Shave 24 hours beforehand (ideally)

  • Do not wax or pluck for at least 3 weeks before treatment (otherwise the target structure in the follicle will be missing).

  • Avoid sun exposure and self-tanning products before treatment if possible (depending on the area).

  • On the day of treatment: no lotion, no deodorant, no oils on the area

  • Let us know if you have taken any new medications or if your skin is more sensitive than usual.

If you are unsure, ask us—it is better to clarify once more than to "just do it."

Aftercare (to keep your skin calm)

After treatment, slight redness or warmth may occur. This is usually temporary.

In the first 24–48 hours

  • Avoid heat: very hot showers, saunas, solariums

  • Avoid intense rubbing/exfoliation

  • Soothing care if needed (we will recommend something suitable for you)

In the next few days

  • SPF is important, especially on sunny days.
  • Hair may "shed" – this is normal and can occur over a period of 1–3 weeks.

  • Do not pluck or wax—shaving is acceptable if necessary.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions about permanent hair removal

Primelase® is a high-performance diode laser (Primelase® HR) that has been specially developed for permanent hair reduction. Compared to older systems, Primelase® stands out thanks to its high peak power, large spot sizes, and integrated Crystal Freeze cooling system—making treatment faster, more effective, and more comfortable. At alestetics® Zurich, we use Primelase® because it allows us to safely treat large areas (e.g., the back) in a short time while also precisely treating sensitive areas (e.g., the upper lip or chin).

The number of sessions depends on the area, hair cycle, hair pigment, and hormone status. In practice, we typically recommend 4–8 sessions at intervals of approximately 4–8 weeks for permanent hair reduction. Facial areas such as the upper lip or chin can be treated more frequently; larger areas such as the back or legs often require longer intervals. Consistent series planning is crucial—that's why our package models (e.g., 4-session package) are ideal, as they ensure consistent treatment intervals and increase the chances of success.

Thanks to the Crystal Freeze cooling mechanism, Primelase® treatment is well tolerated by many clients. The sensation is often described as a brief pinch or slight tingling sensation, depending on the area and individual pain sensitivity. Sensitive areas such as the upper lip or intimate areas can be treated very effectively thanks to precise settings and continuous cooling. Our experienced therapists adjust the parameters to achieve an optimal balance between effectiveness and comfort.

Primelase® is very versatile and can be used on many skin and hair types with individually customized settings. Dark, pigmented hair usually responds best; for darker skin types, careful parameter selection and a patch test are crucial to ensure safety. Before each treatment at alestetics® Zurich, we conduct a detailed medical history and, if necessary, a patch test to find the optimal setting for your laser hair removal.

It is important that you do not wax or pluck the treatment area (4–6 weeks beforehand) because the hair root must remain intact. Shaving 24 hours before the appointment is ideal—this allows Primelase® to see the hair in the follicle, work efficiently, and minimize the risk of burns on the skin surface. Avoid self-tanners and intense sun exposure in the two weeks before your session. During your free consultation, we will answer all your questions and perform a patch test.

Immediately after the session, the skin may be slightly reddened or warm; this usually cools down within a few hours. The treated hairs do not fall out immediately—in the following 1–3 weeks, so-called "shedding" occurs, which reduces visible hair. During and after the series, we recommend sun protection (SPF) and avoiding saunas/solariums for 48 hours. In the long term, Primelase® significantly reduces hair growth; for some people, annual touch-ups are recommended.

Our prices are based on the area and the number of shots required; we offer both individual treatments and package deals. A popular package is the4-pack —valid from the date of purchase and typically valid for 6 months. Commitment plans are paid for in advance and guarantee predictable intervals for maximum effectiveness. You can obtain exact prices and individual recommendations during a free consultation at alestetics® Zurich.

Men's hair is often denser and responds well to diode lasers; however, the number of sessions may vary. Our experts at alestetics® Zurich create a customized treatment protocol for men and recommend the appropriate number of sessions and, if necessary, combination measures (e.g., to soothe the skin or prevent irritation).
