What Vivace® RF microneedling is.
Vivace® RF Microneedling is an FDA- and CE-certified treatment developed by the Korean company ShenB, which combines 36 gold-coated microneedles with radiofrequency energy to stimulate collagen and elastin in the deeper layers of the skin. It is not a laser.
As the needles penetrate the skin to precisely adjustable depths, Radiofrequency energy through the tips of the needles. This thermal stimulus triggers a Regenerative response which builds up new connective tissue over several months. Compared to more aggressive deep-needling procedures such as Morpheus8, Vivace® works with thinner needles and a robotic motor, which inserts the needles evenly — one of the few treatments in this category that is considered pleasant. Patented thin needles, isolated and non-isolated configurations, two selectable RF frequencies — all controllable on a per-treatment-zone basis.

A brief consultation regarding your skin goals, previous treatments and medical history. We plan the treatment depths for each area — deeper for the cheeks and jawline, shallower for the eye area, and targeted treatment for acne scars. For first-time clients, we recommend the free AURA 3D skin analysis beforehand to create a personalised plan.
Robotic needle control, zone by zone.
You lie back and relax. The Vivace® handpiece works on specific areas — the forehead, temples, cheeks, jawline and chin — using the appropriate depth and RF frequency for each. You’ll feel pressure and warmth, but no stinging. Afterwards, a custom-made mask, Dermalux™ LED phototherapy and SPF 50. Optional during the same session: a treatment layer containing NCTF®, PolyPhil™ or Dermadrop.
Maximum of 1 day’s downtime. Results visible within 3–6 months.
Because we work with fine needles and immediately afterwards Dermalux™ LED To put your mind at ease, downtime with Vivace® is minimal at our clinic — usually no more than one day with slight redness, often even less. Make-up can be worn the next day. Avoid sun, saunas and exfoliation for a week. SPF 50 every day is essential. In the Pack of 3 you get 3 sessions for CHF 1,200 — designed for a 3-month treatment programme. For first-time clients, we recommend the free AURA 3D skin analysis beforehand to help plan the ideal number of sessions for your skincare goals.
How many sessions will I need? +
For most skin concerns, we recommend 3 sessions at intervals of 4–6 weeks — structured as a pack of three. This is followed by a Maintenance session every 6–12 months, in order to maintain the results in the long term.
In cases of deeper acne scars or significant skin thickening, 4–6 sessions may be a good idea. We draw up a personalised plan during the free AURA 3D skin analysis — based on your skin type, previous treatments and your goals.
How much downtime will I have after Vivace®? +

You can feel Pressure and heat, no stinging. Most clients find the session quite bearable; some even find it relaxing. Before the treatment, we apply an anaesthetic cream to maximise comfort.
What is the difference between this and Morpheus8? +
Both are RF microneedling treatments — but with different characteristics:
- Vivace®: finer needles, a robotic motor for consistent penetration, designed to improve skin quality and combat the early signs of ageing. One of the gentler alternatives in the RF microneedling category.
- Morpheus8: thicker needles, deeper penetration, focused on structural skin tightening — consequently more invasive and with a longer recovery period.
At alestetics®, we deliberately use Vivace® because it fits in with our Pre-ageing approach The right approach: improving skin quality rather than triggering adverse skin reactions.
Does Vivace® help with acne scars? +
Yes — Vivace® RF microneedling is one of the the most established treatments for acne scars. The combination of mechanical microneedling and radiofrequency energy specifically stimulates collagen production in the scarred areas of the skin.
For deeper acne scars, we plan to localised increase in intensity in the affected areas, whilst we treat the surrounding areas more gently. For noticeable results, 4–6 sessions as usual, supplemented by an NCTF® active ingredient layer during the same session.
Can I combine Vivace® with NCTF® or Dermadrop? +
Yes — and that is one of the the best combinations in our Skin Quality System. According to Vivace®, the Microcanal open for 4–6 hours — Active ingredients penetrate deeper than at any other time.
Available immediately after the Vivace® session:
- NACH Vivace® — NCTF® 135 HA: 60 essential active ingredients delivered directly into the skin matrix.
- NACH Vivace® — Dermadrop TDA®: a transdermal layer of active ingredients without the need for additional needles.
- NACH Vivace® — PolyPhil™: Polynucleotides for regeneration.
Volnewmer® and SkinPen® Microneedling not in the same session — we leave a two-week gap.
Can I have Vivace® treatment if I have metal implants? +
Yes. Metal implants (e.g. dental implants, screws, plates) are not a disqualifying factor For Vivace® RF Microneedling — the radio frequency operates close to the surface and does not affect deeper metal structures.
The situation is different with active electronic implants such as pacemakers or defibrillators — these are a contraindication. We will discuss this with you individually during the consultation.
When is Vivace® not an option? +
Vivace® is not suitable for:
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding
- Active skin infections, herpes or inflammation in the treatment area
- Active electronic implants (pacemakers, defibrillators)
- Autoimmune diseases or active immunotherapy
- Taking isotretinoin (Roaccutane) — a 6-month interval is recommended
- Female patients under the age of 18
